I received word from Cliff Kurtzman, PhD, that MyCityRocks is kicking off support of 2007 Yuri’s Night Celebrations worldwide.
The Houston celebration will be at Pubfiction in Midtown (2303 Smith Street - directions), starting at 6pm. and includes an exceptional opportunity — a raffle where the winner will get to experience the thrill of weightlessness onboard a zero-g flight on G-Force One!
For those of you who don’t know about MyCityRocks, here is a quick summary from their website:
“MyCityRocks is a grassroots venture, with groups coming together in each city to show their pride in their local community. We work to help our members:
- HAVE FUN - Enjoy music, art, food, sports, romance and travel.
- GIVE BACK - Make HOUSTON a better place to live.
- REPRESENT - Share your spirit for HOUSTON with those around you.
HOUSTON is our testbed for the MyCityRocks experience, with more than 25,000 people having joined us in our HOUSTON network.”
From what I’ve seen of MyCityRocks, it has all of the benefits of a MySpace and allows you to meet up and interact locally.
