CyrusOne gets major capital infusion to accelerate growth

CyrusOne

Local disaster recovery firm, CyrusOne was acquired last week by private equity firm Abry Partners for an undisclosed sum. As part of this transaction, Abry will also plow another $40-50 million to add additional sites to CyrusOne’s portfolio of data centers. Local entrepreneur Dave Ferdman will continue to lead the company as CEO.

This is the second major transaction for Abry’s C.J. Brucato who recently acquired another Houston company, Caprock Communications last year. Abry must like the telecom space and also must feel good about Houston as a center of that portfolio.

If you have not heard about CyrusOne yet, check out their site and give them a call for any data center or off-site co-location requirements for your startup business.  They have a Tier 1 facility that is under expansion as we speak. I have seen many data centers in my time and their facility is one of the better ones I have come across. Furthermore, Dave has assembled a superb team that is very customer focused.

Congratulations to both Dave and C.J. on this transaction. I know them both and believe that this will be a good thing for CyrusOne, Abry and the Houston startup community.
