Startup Houston

You have probably noticed that StartupHouston posts information about different technology meetup groups around town and wondered “What do these meetup groups have to do with Startups?”  Well, one of the goals of StartupHouston is to help everyone understand all of the resources that are available to them in the Houston startup community.  In my opinion there are four different areas that any company has to cover well in order to have a successful journey from Idea Stage to Launch Stage and that is The Talent, The Plan, The Product, and The Funding.  Notice that I started with the talent.  Many times, the best ideas for new products begin with the person who asks “Wouldn’t it be cool if …” and these people can most often be found at technical meetups like the ones that I post on this site.  I also try to attend as many of these meetups as I can to check the pulse of the technical community and gauge what the latest trends are, and to even try and make some connections between technical resources and startup companies who need them.  I will also be posting a lot more this week on several exciting events and companies that everyone should know about.
