StartupHouston to Live Blog the TiE Texas Funding Forum on Nov. 11th

TiE HoustonDon’t miss the TiE Texas Funding Forum on November 11th at the Houston Technology Center. I will be live blogging the event and Josh Tabin will be one of the moderators at the event.  The event is open to the public. 20 early stage companies have been chosen to present their companies to the panel. It will be a great way to observe how to pitch – one of the most critical skills a startup can possess.

For those of you who are not familiar with the event, here is a description from the HTC Calendar:

CALLING ALL PRESENTERS!
Do you have a great business idea or a start-up business that you’ve been thinking about launching? Are you wondering how can you get your idea in front of Angel Investors and Venture Capital firms to see if it will stick?  If so, consider applying to TiE Texas Funding Forum!

Executive summaries will be reviewed by a small committee. Finalists will be notified by TiE and those selected will be given the opportunity to make a presentation to a team of Venture Capitalists, Angel Investors, Bankers, and others at the Funding Forum event on November 11th, 2009.  Presenters will be required to put together a business plan presentation and elevator pitch.

Note: This event will be open to public. For attendees this is a great opportunity to network with some of the best in the Texas entrepreneurial community, to understand how a pitch is made and what investors are looking for. Contact jyoti.gupta@houston.tie.org with questions.

And, here is some more background on TiE Global:
